Hello and welcome to birkaran.com! I’m Birkaran Singh, Karan for short. My passion for economics and technology has shaped both my education and professional journey. I’m currently studying A-Levels in mathematics and computer science at Sutton Grammar School while self-studying economics to deepen my understanding of market forces and financial systems.
I launched birkaran.com when I was 12, aiming to share my knowledge with others. Over the years, I’ve secured sponsorships for various projects and have had the privilege of teaching people from many countries and many backgrounds.
My interest in economics stretches beyond the classroom. I’m intrigued by how global financial systems interconnect and how market dynamics shape economies. Alongside my academic achievements, including strong GCSE results from Hinchley Wood School, I’ve participated in programs like the iDEA Duke of York Awards and Google Code-In. A highlight of my journey was ranking in the top 0.05% of Cyber Discovery and completing the SANS SEC560 Course in Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking by the age of 14.
In addition to my focus on economics, I’ve worked extensively in cloud computing, especially with AWS, where I’ve completed numerous projects and earned certifications such as AWS Architect Associate and AWS Security Specialty. These technical skills have allowed me to explore the intersection of technology and finance, a space where I aim to contribute meaningfully.
During my internship at Deutsche Bank, I gained first-hand experience in the financial sector, learning how economic principles and market strategies impact financial institutions. Collaborating with students at Imperial College London on applied mathematics challenges further honed my problem-solving and teamwork abilities, skills that are crucial in both finance and technology.
Outside of tutoring and academics, I have a keen interest in building custom PCs, including cryptocurrency mining rigs, and offer bespoke computer-building services. I’m also deeply engaged in cybersecurity through platforms like TryHackMe and the SANS Institute, where I continue to develop my technical expertise.
Thanks for visiting. I’m excited to keep leveraging my skills in both finance and technology to make a difference. I hope you find this site helpful as you pursue your own learning goals.
