I'm Birkaran Singh, Karan for short. My passion for economics with technology has shaped both my education and professional journey, and hope it can change your perspective too !
Most recently, I completed 5 A-Levels (Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics), teaching myself Statistics and Economics independently. During my GCSEs, I achieved A*s across all STEM subjects while also growing my cloud computing education project.
Alongside my studies, I strengthened my problem-solving skills through an advanced maths course at Imperial College London, UKMT challenges, and other maths and computing competitions, shaping how I approach complex economic and financial problems.
Between the ages of 12 and 14, I mentored others in AWS cloud computing and helped several people enter the field. At 13, I launched this website, sharing certification resources to widen access to tech careers.
I now combine these technical skills with my passion for economics, using AWS to build financial simulations and policy optimisation models, leveraging high-performance computing to test real-world interventions and bridge the gap between policy design and implementation.
Internships at Deutsche Bank and Publicis Sapient gave me hands-on experience at the intersection of finance and technology, building on my earlier success in Google’s Code-in competition. I’m now focused on deepening my understanding of economics and finance, while continuing to explore how emerging technologies can support development and financial systems.
